Literally The best headphones to ever exist Three Days. Grace AC/DC Lady Gaga you name it. Everything sounds a thousand times better with these headphones
I have been obsessed with trying to find great headphones at a reasonable price. I bought a pair of refurbished Bose QC15 headphones a decade ago, and they were great! Ever since Apple removed the headphone Jack from their phones, I’ve been looking for great noise-canceling BT headphones. A few years ago, I bought a pair of Bose QC35ii. The noise canceling wasn’t as good as the QC15, and they randomly shut off from a faulty power switch, or a bad battery or a bad charging port. I then bought a pair of Sennheiser 458s. I had to buy new ear cups for them because the stock ones were too small, the noise canceling still wasn’t as good as the qc15s, and while they still work well, I wanted something for gaming.
Enter Heavys and their gaming bundle. Having it on sale for $20 off plus a Black Friday code, and I was sold. The first thing I did was pair it to my phone of course, and everything I played sounded great. Everything they said in the ads, all true. I decided to play a game with a friend online, and I switched over to the wire to plug into my ps5 controller.
It’s a small thing that makes a big difference: Heavys is the only headphones I’ve bought where you can keep the noise canceling/headphones on while independently cutting off the Bluetooth connection. My biggest problem with the Sennheiser headphones is that they turn off when you connect via a hardwire. This allowed me to truly game with my friend without any outside distractions.
I love these things after less than 24 hours. I cannot extoll the virtues of them enough! They’re not too heavy on my head (despite their name), the sound is simply incredible, and the noise canceling is the best I’ve experienced in a decade!
My only complaints are nitpicks: the case is too small to hold any cables or accessories at the same time as the headphones. The wire for the microphone is very well reinforced at the plug in point for my controller, but it would be nice if it had a 90 degree bend to it. The microphone itself appears to be good quality in terms of sound, but it feels flimsy, even if it’s not.
None of those things are a dealbreaker and the audio quality and overall construction of the headphones themselves more than make up for it. I don’t blame anyone for waiting for a sale like I did, but I can say with confidence these are worth EVERY penny!
Looks perfect! Also because its one of my favorite bands.
Adding +10 to the sound :-)
The Opeth logo on the sides of my Heavys is something I've been requesting since they introduced the artist series. I wasn't sure about the brown background when I saw the pictures, but they look GREAT in real life! Highly recommended!
I love these headphones! As music is one of my hobbies, the reproduction of it is greatly measured. The dynamic range and clarity of these are some of the best I have heard. With separate drivers driving specific frequencies, it reduces distortion compared to a single driver.
The build quality is excellent, they fit like a glove and with HB on, your room is dead silent. Tons more to say, but I can assure you, as a backer from the beginning these guys knew what they were doing. Buy them.
For the price, these are very good. Bass is strong. I love the tweeter placement.
Love them, they have become my go to gym headphones. They rock, they cancel the background noise, and they stay mostly put.
I wrote a long review before and it didn't post for some reason... Everything I wrote boiled down to one message though: just make the purchase. These are easily the best sounding headphones I've used. If you have considered purchasing these in the past, now is the time, friend.
So far so good, very sturdy build, comfortable, sound great!
Bought out of curiosity, definitely let's those heavy tunes shine.
My son loves these so much that I’m buying a pair for his girlfriend, too!
The build quality is great and the sound is incredible on all types of music.
These headphones are awesome. Just what you need for all kinds of music, although i'm into heavy metal that's why i bought them. They say there bringing out an app for equalizer i hope so just a little off on some songs. wish you guys offered more choices on replacement earpiece covers. Their bad ass just wish we had other selections. Other than that i don't believe you could get a better set of headphones, and believe i grew up with this style of headphones. And these are so much better than those. Buy them you won't be disappointed. yea there pricy, but like they say you get what you pay for.
Call me old fashioned, but I like physical buttons, switches, and dials. The swipe forward/backward and single-, double- and triple-tap functions of earbuds frustrate me a bit ... mainly due to the need for precision and the fact that I have imprecise fingers.
So, I was pleasantly surprised by the controls for the H1H Heavys: a nice central dial for volume, with physical Forward and Back buttons, an easy-to-use Bluetooth switch, and a physical on/off/Hell-blocker noise-cancelling switch. It's also nice that they include both an analog and USB-C option for wired listening.
Once you get past the physical usability of the headphones, you get to the nicely engineered sound. For music listening, you really can't go wrong with a circum-aural design. Add the Hell-Blocker noise cancelling function, and you're in a world of your own sound. (Though, I'll be honest: the noise cancelling isn't quite as good as my new Pixel Buds 2.)
You can tell right away that these were made for metal through and through. When I asked for suggestions for music to really test these out, I got a bunch of death metal suggestions. But to be honest, I think if you really want to hear the clarity of all 8 speakers and feel their power, listen to the new "Night Terror" song by Dream Theater. Specifically, note how amazing Mike Portnoy's work on the drums is broken out by speaker. Mind-blowing! I would describe the sound from the Heavys H1H as: "Clarity with a punch!"
It's hard to come up with any negatives for these headphones as-is. I would love to see what they could do with a mobile app with an equalizer, but you honestly don't need to mess around with the audio settings to get the full effect.
I work as an audio engineer and as much as I love Bluetooth (which sounds amazing on these) if possible I prefer aux cables. I lost the original one and temporarily used a generic one with an adapter and that made my ears bleed. Had no issues finding a replacement, ordering, or delivery. In the likely situation that I lose this capable I have no issues ordering again,
So I love my music and bounced around different styles all my life, these are crisp, clear and quiet when needed. The battery life is amazing and I've only had to charge it once since owning them, the dial option for sound on the headphones themselves gives a much closer volume control than just buttons. While texting with my mother, I put in her favourite song and put them on her and I couldn't hear a thing. They're the best overear headphones I've ever bought, and with the shells you can buy alongside them. They're customisable to fit you.
